Steve Anderson, owner of TeamLogic IT in Johns Creek, Georgia, recently got to channel his inner rock star at the Business Network International (BNI) Global Convention in Singapore. One feature of the convention was a “BNI’s Got Talent” event, of which Steve was one of the winners. The honor paved the way for him to perform a song before an international audience of thousands.

Playing an acoustic guitar, Steve performed an approximately 5-minute version of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” to the appreciation of the convention crowd. Although Steve has played guitar for about 20 years, “this is the first time I’ve performed in front of thousands,” he says.

Steve has been an active BNI member and serves as vice president of his local networking group in the Atlanta area, but it was his musical inclinations that spurred him to attend the global convention. “BNI’s Got Talent was a virtual contest at first,” Anderson explains. “I was chosen as the winner for America and was given the opportunity to perform in Singapore. I went for this opportunity to perform.”

Of course, he also took advantage of the event to meet and learn from his international peers. He even met Dr. Ivan Misner, the founder of BNI.

“As much as I love what I do for business, music has always held a special place in my heart,” Steve said. “I think it’s the bee’s knees that I’m able to express my talents in this professional setting while simultaneously growing my IT company and getting to network with people from all over the world.”
