Ten years ago, Kirk Gramoll opened TeamLogic IT in southeastern Wisconsin with the goal of building a relationship-focused IT business for small and mid-sized organizations. Over the past decade, the technology needs of businesses have changed significantly. Businesses increasingly rely on proactive IT planning, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, remote collaboration tools, and long-term technology strategies to support daily operations. Throughout those changes, TeamLogic IT has remained focused on building relationships, helping businesses navigate challenges, and creating technology strategies that evolve alongside client needs. Why Kirk Chose TeamLogic ITBefore opening TeamLogic IT in 2016, Kirk spent years working in corporate IT leadership roles. After experiencing a major corporate restructuring, he wanted to start his own business and began exploring franchise ownership. What attracted him to franchising was the structure and support it offered compared to building an independent business entirely from scratch. “The statistics were hard to ignore,” Kirk explained. “Around 80 percent of independent businesses fail within the first five years, while franchises succeed at a much higher rate because the systems, processes, and support structures are already in place.” Ironically, IT was the one industry Kirk initially did not want to return to. But after evaluating different franchise opportunities, TeamLogic IT ultimately stood out because it combined a relationship-focused business model with an area where he already had years of experience and operational knowledge. The opportunity also presented a challenge that interested him: helping small and medium-sized businesses access the kinds of IT planning, processes, and support structures often associated with much larger organizations. He signed the franchise agreement in March 2016 and officially opened TeamLogic IT two months later. Building a Business Around Relationships“We’re in the customer service business first,” Kirk said. “Technology is part of it, but relationships are what matter long term.” That belief has shaped TeamLogic IT from the start. For Kirk, IT support is not just about solving tickets or managing systems. It is about understanding the people behind the business, the pressures they face, and the goals they are trying to reach. Over the past 10 years, one of the biggest surprises has been how meaningful those client relationships became. Kirk has worked with business owners, nonprofit leaders, and local organizations that have shared their challenges, plans, and decisions with him. Those conversations helped TeamLogic IT become more than a technical provider. They helped the company become a partner businesses could trust. That relationship-first approach also shapes how TeamLogic IT delivers fully managed and co-managed IT services. The team works to understand what is already working, where support is needed, and how technology can be planned around the business’s goals. For Kirk, the best partnerships are win-win relationships. TeamLogic IT succeeds when clients feel supported, informed, and confident in the technology decisions they are making. How IT Support Changed Over the Last 10 YearsKirk often describes the company’s growth in three stages: the startup years, COVID, and everything that changed as a result of it. During the startup years, businesses were already beginning to move beyond traditional break-fix IT support. Instead of only calling for help after a disruption occurred, businesses increasingly wanted proactive planning, monitoring, cybersecurity support, and long-term technology strategies. That shift created opportunities for deeper strategic partnerships between businesses and IT providers. At the same time, building the business came with a constant learning curve. “In the beginning, it felt like I was learning something every minute,” Kirk said. “After about three years, it became every hour.” Around that same three-year mark, COVID-19 created a sudden and monumental shift in how businesses used IT. The pandemic forced many businesses to rethink how employees communicated, collaborated, and accessed systems almost overnight. Organizations that previously operated primarily in-office suddenly needed secure remote access, cloud-based collaboration tools, and new ways to support employees working from home. For TeamLogic IT, the focus became helping businesses adapt quickly and securely during a period of uncertainty. That experience reinforced how important strong partnerships had become. Businesses needed technology partners that understood how their operations functioned, could respond quickly to changing conditions, and could help guide decisions during unfamiliar situations. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become the next major shift affecting both business operations and cybersecurity. AI tools are already changing how businesses communicate, document information, analyze data, and improve efficiency. At the same time, cybercriminals are also using AI to create more convincing phishing attempts and increasingly sophisticated attacks. “I think we’re still in the first inning of a nine-inning baseball game,” Kirk said, referring to the early stages of artificial intelligence and its long-term impact on business operations and IT. Looking Ahead to the Next 10 YearsTeamLogic IT expects the next decade to be shaped heavily by the continued growth of AI, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, automation, and long-term technology planning. Artificial intelligence will likely continue influencing how businesses communicate, analyze information, improve efficiency, and make decisions. At the same time, AI-driven cybersecurity threats and increasingly sophisticated attacks will require stronger protections, employee awareness, and more proactive planning. A Decade of Trusted PartnershipsTen years after opening its doors, TeamLogic IT continues to focus on helping businesses navigate change through strategic partnerships, proactive IT support, and long-term technology planning. Entering into a fully managed or co-managed IT partnership begins with an initial conversation. Contact: |
