Jim is a Senior-level technology executive with a strong leadership background in network infrastructure and Data Center environments; im-plementing hi-tech solutions to im-prove processes and enable organizational growth with strategic align-ment and optimized systems.
With over 20 years in the IT field he has developed plans to adopt new capabilities, cost-effectively utilize resources and troubleshoot issues, as well as reduce IT operating costs across multiple locations and multiple business units. He leverages technical knowledge and business acumen to drive IT strategy and decision making for continuous improvement.
Unifying technology infrastructure and strengthening information security through the deployment of robust IT frameworks, standards, and operational best practices, are im-portant aspects of his work. In addi-tion, motivating and building strong teams are paramount to achieve the performance excellence that is his focus.
Background
The work Jim has done during 20 years with the Seattle Public Schools has enabled him to manage a large team and successfully perform multimillion-dollar IT Infrastructure and Data Center projects. His latest certifications help show competency in what he has been doing for many years and create a well-rounded leader and project manager.
Jim started down the IT path in High School as a programmer. After high school he went into the US Army. During the 4th year on active duty he developed programs for the leadership in the company to track and report people on leave. This was a very successful project and was a big hit.
After Active duty he went into the Army Reserves for 8 years and back to school to get his AA and then BS. During that time he learned how to diagnose and repair hardware and build networks between computers. He was recognized by the unit with a Commendation Medal for achieving a 90% uptime of hardware compared to the national average of 70%.
Jim has worked in retail managing multiple service departments and designing and building networks for companies. He left retail for a contract opportunity at Boeing to maintain computers and networks. He had multiple recognitions for coming up with unique and creative solutions to problems to achieve the customer results.
Jim is very family oriented and was born and raised in the Seattle, WA area. His family still lives in that area but he has moved to be with his wife’s family in their home town in Texas.
He Volunteers for a small company his wife works for to maintain their network, computers and O365 environment. He also creates custom programs to track data and make a visual presentation to the users using a SQL database for the backend
Jim loves to be in a position to design solutions and be creative to achieve the outcomes.
